Somatic Therapist for Women in Arizona
Telehealth Trauma Therapy - Now Accepting Arizona Clients
You've done the work. You've read the books, listened to the podcasts, maybe even spent years in therapy. And yet something still feels out of reach - a sense of ease in your body, real safety in your relationships, a quiet confidence that doesn't disappear under pressure.
You're not broken. And you're not imagining it.
The patterns that shape how you move through the world, the over-functioning, the difficulty trusting, the way you disappear when things get too close, often have roots that talk therapy alone doesn't reach.
That's where somatic work comes in.
I'm Marisa Vann, a Licensed Professional Counselor and Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner, and I now offer telehealth sessions for women living in Arizona. Whether you're in Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe, Tucson, or anywhere across the state, we can work together, from wherever you are.
Is This You?
You're a thoughtful, self-aware woman who has done real work on herself, and still feels like something is missing. Maybe you:
Find yourself repeating the same patterns in relationships, even when you can see them clearly
Feel anxious, disconnected, or numb in your body more than you'd like
Give a lot and struggle to receive, or feel like your needs are too much
Have been in talk therapy but want something that creates change you can feel, not just understand
Are drawn to a deeper, more body-based approach to healing
If any of this resonates, you're in the right place.
Healing that Goes Beyond Talking:
Somatic therapy works with the body as an entry point for healing, not just the story, but what's living underneath it in your nervous system.
Using Somatic Experiencing®, a body-centered trauma therapy developed by Dr. Peter Levine, we work gently and slowly with the places in your body where old experiences are still being held. Rather than reliving or retelling trauma, we focus on what's happening right now, in sensation, breath, and the subtle signals your body is always sending.
Over time, this work creates the kind of change that doesn't just live in your head. You start to feel different. More regulated. More like yourself.
My approach also draws on:
Somatic Resilience & Regulation (Kathy Kain & Stephen Terrell)
Internal Family Systems (IFS) foundational concepts
Attachment theory and relational healing
Over fourteen years of clinical experience
Each 50 minute session is $200
FAQs
Are you licensed to see clients in Arizona? Yes. I am licensed in Louisiana and authorized to practice in Arizona through the Counseling Compact, an interstate agreement that allows licensed counselors to see clients in member states. My Arizona privilege to practice is current and in good standing.
What does a telehealth session look like? We meet via secure video with you in your space, me in mine. Sessions are 50 minutes. I'll send you a link before each appointment. All you need is a private space, a device with a camera, and a stable internet connection.
Do you take insurance? I am private pay only and do not bill insurance. Many clients choose private pay for the privacy, flexibility, and depth it allows in the therapeutic relationship. I can provide a superbill if you'd like to seek out-of-network reimbursement from your insurance provider.
What issues do you specialize in? I work with women navigating developmental trauma, attachment wounds, anxiety, people-pleasing, and patterns of self-abandonment. If you feel stuck in old patterns and are ready for healing that goes beyond insight, this work is for you.
How do I get started? The first step is a free 20–30 minute consult call. We'll get a sense of each other, talk through what's bringing you in, and see if we're a good fit.
